EmailXport Excel Splitter Tool - How to use
Here’s the step-by-step process to easily split large-sized, bulk Excel files with complete accuracy:
Step 1: Open the EmailXport Excel Splitter Tool and choose the Split Excel Files option.
Step 2: Click the Add Files to open the file explorer and add the source Excel file (XLS & XLSX formats).
Step 3: Navigate to the location where the Excel files are stored. Select them and click Open to add them to the tool.
Step 4: After adding the Excel files, choose the files you want to split and click Next to proceed.
Step 5: You have three options to split the Excel files:
Option A: Split by Row
This option allows you to divide your large Excel sheet based on the number of rows it has. When splitting by row, you get the following options:
- Output: Choose the output format from XLSX, XLS, CSV, XML, & ODS according to your requirement.
- All Sheets: Specify to divide all sheets in the Excel file or only divide a particular range.
- Split Every [X] Rows: Here, you need to provide a number of rows that each output sheet will have. The minimum value for this is 10.
- Keep the First [X] Row(s) as Headings: Specify the number of first rows you want to keep as headings.
- Create Folder: With this filter, you can choose to save the output file with the original source file name or allow the tool to create a new name.
After applying the filters, click on the Browse button to choose the location where you want to save the split Excel files.
Option B: Split by Size
This option helps you to split the selected Excel files based on size. You get the following filters with this option:
- Split Excel after File Size: Provide the minimum file size based on which you want to divide an Excel file.
- Create Folder: With this filter, you can choose to save the output file with the original source file name or allow the tool to create a new name.
After applying the filters, click on the Browse button to choose the location where you want to save the split Excel files.
Option C: Split by Sheet.
This option allows you to split your Excel file based on the total number of sheets it has. If your Excel file has five sheets, then the tool will divide the file into five different Excel files, each having data from a different 5 sheet. The filters you get in this option are:
- Output: Choose the output format from XLSX, XLS, CSV, XML, & ODS according to your requirement.
- All Sheets: Specify to divide all sheets in the Excel file or only divide a particular range.
- Create Folder: With this filter, you can choose to save the output file with the original source file name or allow the tool to create a new name.
After applying the filters, click on the Browse button to choose the location where you want to save the split Excel files.
Step 6: The tool begins to split the Excel files with live, real-time updates.
Step 7: After the splitting process is finished, you will receive a confirmation message.
Step 8: To save the report in CSV format, click the Save Reports button.
Note: Click on Open Folder Location to directly access the saved files after splitting.
